Conductor- Simon Filice

Simon Filice grew up overseas, living in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Singapore before moving to Canada to earn three undergraduate degrees in Music, Communications and Web Design.  During his university years, Simon worked for countless choirs as a tenor, section leader and soloist.

Growing up in a musical home, Simon began making music at a young age with his father and sister.  This lead to his involvement with several bands, ensembles and musicals.  Voice is his main passion and he also plays a number of other instruments.  Simon enjoys writing, playing, directing, arranging, teaching and above all else, making music with other people.

He currently works as a music teacher at King’s College in Otahuhu.  Simon attended the Big Sing Cadenza with King’s Kappella from King‘s College this year and the Barbershop National Competition with Malestrom from Burnside High School last year.
